I’m Living in Awe of You

Boom! It was in that instant that everything came from nothing.

Life is an accident. There is no meaning or beauty in this world’s original design. In fact, the entire universe simply appeared one day, leaving us to navigate it on our own.

This is the reality of countless people across the globe.

They have accepted the lie that everything came from nothing; there was no plan or purpose. Life just…happened.

As Christians, however, we believe that God is the ultimate Creator. He made the Heavens and Earth in six days. He formed each of us with a purpose.

If you were to ask me about the creation story, I could tell it to you in a heartbeat. I’ve grown up with those chapters of Genesis ingrained in my mind. Nevertheless, simply knowing the story isn’t enough.

Knowing the truth is not the same as living the truth.

The sad part about the church today is that many of us get sidetracked. We attend church, Bibles studies, and youth camps. We memorize scripture, etching it into our minds.

Yet, we’ve become numb to the awesomeness of God.

When was the last time you journeyed outside, whether it was watching a sunset, looking at the stars, or simply immersing yourself in the beauty surrounding you, and truly stood in awe of our Creator?

I’m Standing in Awe of You

“Listen to this, Job; stop and consider God’s wonders. Do you know how God controls the clouds and makes his lightning flash? Do you know how the clouds hang poised, those wonders of him who has perfect knowledge?”

Job 37:14-16

“Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.”

Psalm 147:5

“Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.”

John 1:3

Wow. Just let those Scriptures sink in for a moment. Our Lord, the Creator of this entire Universe, is abundant in strength. He has perfect knowledge. And, somehow, He takes time for you and me, inviting us to take part in His glory.

“Does it ever hit you that you are God’s idea and God’s creation — that he intended you to be?”

Jon Bloom- Desiring God

Each time we take God up on His invitation, He has something wonderful planned for us.

We may not always feel His presence. There have been plenty of times when my quiet time with God felt dry and empty, but even in those times, Jesus is still working.

When we intentionally set aside moments of praise and awe toward our Creator, amazing things happen.

No matter where you are in life, be sure to stop, breathe, and take in the beauty of Jesus and His love for you.

I genuinely believe that, the more we pour our hearts out to Him in thankfulness and praise, the more we will realize how astonishing our God truly is.
