“No one could ever want me.”
“I’m too broken to love.”
“I can’t do this anymore. It hurts too much.”
Do any of those prick at your heart a little bit?
You wouldn’t dare say it out loud, but on the inside you wonder if any of it’s really worth the pain and the hurt. You’ve made mistakes, you’ve been rejected, and you feel like you have to prove yourself in order to deserve love.
Your life is full of wounds and scars.
You’re scared to hope in anything because, if you do, it might fail and let you down yet another time.
What if I told you that you didn’t have to go through life this way? It’s true.
There is Someone you can hope in who won’t ever let you down. Someone who will dry your tears and hold you close because He loves you.
His name is Jesus Christ and He can turn your scars into a beautiful story.
Recently, I heard a song by Tauren Wells called “God’s Not Done With You”. All of the lyrics are so inspiring, but the part I’m about to share really digs deep to the heart.
“God’s not done with you
Even with your broken heart and your wounds and your scars.
God’s not done with you
Even when you’re lost and it’s hard and you’ve falling apart.”
Whatever you’re going through; whatever pain you’re dealing with right now, God is with you. He’s not done writing your story and He won’t give up.
You’ve probably heard the phrase, “everything happens for a reason”. Though people often say it to make others feel better when they’re going through something hard, it doesn’t really help much.
Who wants to think that their pain and suffering is actually a part of God’s plan?
The fact is, I honestly don’t believe that everything that happens in life is God’s plan. What I believe is what it says in Romans 8:28.
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.”
Because of sin and the bad choices that people make, there are things that happen that are difficult and hard.
However, even when terrible things happen; even when people hurt us and leave us with painful memories, God can make something good come out of it.
There may not even be any good in the situation itself, but God can help us, teach us, and show us His unconditional love through those times.
Psalm 34:17-18 says, “The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
It’s Your Choice.
If you desire to start a relationship with Christ or re-surrender your life to Him, I encourage you to stop right now and invite Him into your heart.
You don’t have to say all the right words. You don’t have to know everything there is to know about the Bible, but if you want to have a deep friendship with the Lord, tell Him.
Whatever your story is, the Lord can turn it into something amazing. He can pick up your shattered pieces and put you back together.
He can turn your scars into something beautiful.
